10% Vitamin C Glow Drops: Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate Oil Serum - Brighten, Firm, Glow

A powerhouse oil serum with 10% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (lipophilic Vitamin C) and Squalane for brighter, firmer, more even looking skin -- with an illuminated glow. 

Called the "Gold Standard" for Vitamin C or "lipophilic gold", Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (BV-OSC THD) is considered one of the most effective forms of Vitamin C. 

It is a lipophilic form of Vitamin C that penetrates deeply while being non-irritating, non-acidic, and non-exfoliating. It is also highly stable compared to other forms of Vitamin C.

Vitamin C is paired with Squalane, Jojoba, Rosehip and Wild Watermelon Oil. This further enhances Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate Vitamin C penetration. Nourishing lipids support the skin barrier and help lock in moisture. 

Clients will see healthier, firmer looking skin with a luminous dewy glow. Bonus: antioxidant protection.

KEY INGREDIENTS

10% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C) – considered the “gold standard” in Vitamin C. 

• Highly stable and oil (lipid) soluble, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (aka THD Ascorbate) may penetrate better into skin than other forms of vitamin C.

• Helps brighten, address dullness, and improve the overall appearance of skin.

• Support natural collagen, improve the appearance of fine lines, and firmer looking skin.

• Antioxidant - helps protect skin lipids and ceramides and defend from environmental aggressors.

• THD is non-exfoliating and less potentially irritating than other forms of vitamin C. Delivered in nourishing oils, makes it a lovely choice for sensitive skin.

• This form of vitamin C is not an acid - making it suitable for clients who can not use products that contain acids.

Squalane – lightweight, calming, moisturizing. Deeply penetrating to help deliver active ingredients. This form is vegan and Non-comodogenic. It is distinct from shark liver oil or SqualEne (with an E).

• Leaves skin feeling silky and promotes soft, supple, healthier looking skin. Emollient.

• Improves skin suppleness and elasticity.

• Source of lipids that help keep skin hydrated by strengthening the skin barrier to reduce and protect against moisture loss (TEWL).

• Helps calms skin and may reduce the look of redness.

• Antioxidant: helps protect skin from free radical damage.  

Rosehip Oil – Nourishing source of fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6, antioxidant vitamin E. Softens and supports the skin barrier. Promotes healthy looking skin.

Watermelon Oil – helps skin retain moisture and reduces TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Source of antioxidant vitamin E.

Jojoba Oil – helps lock in moisture for soft supple skin.

The texture will be lighter. The concentration of Vitamin C will remain 10%.

• Original Glow: leave as is. No changes. The original luscious texture, best for an Illuminated Glow.

• 5 Superfruit Antioxidants: boost this antioxidant serum further with 5 superfruit antioxidants: Kakadu Plum, Blueberry. Passion Fruit, Banana, and Coconut Fruit extract. Non-comedogenic.

  • Kakadu Plum adds a second source of Vitamin C.

  • Antioxidants are anti-aging, helping defend skin from environmental aggressors. Antioxidants help shield against visible signs of aging and promote healthier looking skin.

• 5% Licorice Extract: Brightening, Soothing, Antioxidant. As a Tyrosinase inhibitor, it is a gentle natural alternative to Hydroquinone. Licorice helps even skin tone, reduce the look of dark spots, balance oil, and reduce appearance of redness. 

Licorice extract adds a characteristic Licorice scent.

• Reishi 4 Mushroom Adaptogen Complex: superfoods with adaptogenic properties - adapting to skin’s needs for Brightening, Soothing, Protecting & Rejuvenating. Reishi, Chaga, Maitake, and Cordyceps mushroom.

  • Multitude of benefits: brightening, protecting and rejuvenating the look of skin, soothing & calming, reducing irritation, promoting natural collagen, and supporting the skin's moisturizer barrier. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, which contribute to aging and dark spots.

  • Reishi brightens and promotes even looking skin as a Tyrosinase inhibitor. It also promotes natural elasticity and a firmer look.  

  • Source of calming soothing Beta Glucan, helping reduce signs of irritation and redness, promoting skin recovery. 

  • Source of Polysaccharides, which have humectant properties that promote hydrated moisturized skin.

• Yuzu, a non-phototoxic citrus that adds fresh lemon notes. INCI: Citrus Junos (Yuzu) Peel Oil.

• Rose Geranium. INCI: Pelargonium Roseum (Rose Geranium) Oil

• Citrus Rose: Rose Geranium + Yuzu. Non-phototoxic.

• Chamomile: INCI: Anthemis Nobilis ( Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil. Roman Chamomile is colorless.

• Blue Tansy & Blue Chamomile (serum will be blue): both an Active and a boost to the scent. Helps soothe and reduce the appearance of redness.

  • This option adds a natural Blue color to the serum. The color comes naturally from the blue Essential Oils.

  • INCI: Tanacetum Annuum (Blue Tansy) Flower Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (German Blue Chamomile) Flower Oil.

HOW TO USE

Directions: Apply to cleansed skin.

Can be applied in the serum step (after water based serums) or applied on top of moisturizer. 

Scent: None. Fragrance-Free.

Feel: feels gentle on skin

Skin types: All skin types. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is one of the best forms of Vitamin C for sensitive skin, as it's non acidic, non irritating, non exfoliating.

Time of day: Anytime (AM/PM/Both). Vitamin C is an AM favorite that pairs well with sunscreen.

Tips: 

1. Apply any water based serums first, if used.

2. This formulations can be used in multiple ways: as a serum, face oil, or antioxidant booster (mix a couple drops into favorite serum or moisturizer).

3. Try mixing a couple drops into makeup to boost dewy glow.
